When my work and travel schedule get amped up, I’m reminded of how important it is to have tools for keeping it all together.

And by “all together” I mean feeling like I’m firing on all cylinders, even though stress and busy-ness happens.

Because when I’m NOT feeling that way, everything suffers. Work. Life. Relationships. My daily to-do list begins to feel Sisyphean.

Mind. Body. Soul. Taking care of them MUST come first for me to succeed. Period.

As much as I sometimes wish I could ignore them and keep moving, I know better now.

Been there. Done that.

Fell asleep on my desk (or in meetings!). Didn’t go out into the world to connect with others (including friends). Won the gold medal in procrastination (and denial). Stopped being who I wanted to be.

So this week, I’m sharing three resources that I’m loving for hanging onto that “firing on all cylinders” feeling.

Headspace

If you’ve been hanging out with me for a bit, you’ve likely heard me mention the Headspace app. It’s my go-to meditation app for beginner meditators, mostly because it has a “10 minutes for 10 days” free trial.

Recently, I’ve been LOVING the Headspace “mindful moments,” little notifications that pop up on my phone during the day saying things like…

“Only when we allow others to be who they are, rather than what we want them to be, will we have peaceful relationships.”

Or my favorite…

“Turn off your phone for 10 minutes.”

Which I did, with more discomfort than I’d like to admit. 😉

These reminders are enough to bring me back into the present moment (if temporarily) – which according to research, makes us happier and healthier.

genneve

I celebrated my 45th birthday a few weeks ago. While I’m not yet menopausal (or even perimenopausal at this point), I’m curious about what’s next for my body as I age.

Turns out, I’m not the only one. And unfortunately, there’s a dearth of information for women in midlife.

So when I met Jill Angelo – founder of genneve – I was thrilled to learn of her mission to be “the solution for women in midlife and menopause.”

genneve’s website is full of information about health, sex, and empowerment in midlife. They also have their own line of products to help women navigate hormonal changes in midlife.

And it turns out that a big chunk of their audience is women in their 30s. Because empowering yourself with knowledge about your body can never happen too soon.

Worth It

Financial health doesn’t immediately come to mind when you think of taking care of your soul. But, oh sister, should it!

There’s nothing more stressful than feeling anxious about your financial security. (As an entrepreneur, I’m intimately familiar with periods of financial stress.) 😉 And as with health education for women in midlife, there’s a void in financial education for women.

Enter Amanda Steinberg, founder of DailyWorth and WorthFM – and author of the new book Worth It: Your Life, Your Money, Your Terms.

Amanda’s approach to finances has changed my life AND my bank account.

It’s a fact: Women view money differently than men. Amanda not only understands that, but she provides a framework for how to avoid your personal money pitfalls and for what assets YOU need to build.

Because, as with food and nutrition, everyone’s needs are unique. Amanda gets this and uses your unique “money type” as a way to empower you to achieve financial health on your terms.

So there you have it. Mindfulness. Menopause. Money. My current trifecta of “firing on all cylinders.” 😉

Of course, figuring out how to eat (and move) to support your body and mind at all stages of life is a HUGE piece of firing on all cylinders, too. If you’d like my support in sorting that out, I invite you to apply for a free, 30-minute “Taste” call with me by clicking here.
