“I remind myself that if I take a break, my to-do list doesn’t change, but how I relate to it changes.”
Minh-Hai Alex is a registered dietitian and founder of Mindful Nutrition in Seattle, WA. Her work has been featured by Self Magazine, CNN, The Seattle Times, and Refinery29.
Minh-Hai is also mama to two young boys, a dear friend, and one of my go-to people for insightful conversations about personal development, psychology, and really GOOD food! Minh-Hai and I met several years ago when we were panelists at a women’s health event, and became fast friends not only because of our shared philosophy of health and eating but because Minh-Hai is one of the funniest people I know.
Listen in as we talk self-care, “diet honeymoons,” and sleep obsession; and marvel over the ability of men to put their well-being first (something we women can learn from!).
Highlights
- Why the “moral baggage” around the word health might be keeping you from being healthy (and how to ditch it)
- Minh-Hai’s surprising realization about nutrition’s limited role in overall well-being (a humbling moment for a dietitian!)
- Why the “put your oxygen mask on first” analogy isn’t helping moms prioritize well-being, plus a different way to think about whole family health
- Some “embarrassingly easy” ways to feel better and regain perspective when your to-do list feels out of control
- Minh-Hai’s “obsession” when it comes to the well-being of her body AND her brain
