Seriously. Are you?
Let me ask a different way:
How would your life be different if your soul – your passion – showed up in your business or career? If you were literally “selling your soul” instead of just a product or service?
“Shut UP, Lara? Really?!”, I hear you saying. “Isn’t selling my soul a bad thing?”
Not according to the brilliant and inspiring Danielle LaPorte and Marie Forleo, hosts of last week’s “Selling Your Soul: The How-To’s of Meaningful Moneymaking” and the 140 entrepreneurs captivated by their message of packaging up your passion and sharing it with the world in a way that supports not only your soul but your business or career. (And by the way, these ladies don’t mess around with a bunch of “woo woo” thinking…they’re all about action. Look for a follow up post next week with a few choice nuggets of LaPorte + Forleo wisdom.)
“Because,” as Danielle and Marie would say, “if you’re not selling your soul, what are you selling?”
The way I see it, your work should nourish your soul, just as food nourishes your body. Being “well” is about far more than what you eat, how much you exercise, and what vitamins you take.
So ask yourself these questions – sent to Selling Your Soul attendees prior to the event – and see what comes up for you.
- Say your “official” job title out loud. Three times. Deep breath. How does it make you feel?
- How much money would you like to make, annually? Visualize that number. Feel its energetic value. What’s happening in your body, as you hold that number in your heart?
- What’s on your “stop-doing” list? What do you need to delegate (or eliminate), to make space for magic?
- What do people thank you for, consistently? What’s the common thread of golden praise?
- So…for real, now. What would you like to do with your life and career? {Money is no object. Dream.}
Is it time to find a career you love or reignite your love of the career you have? What steps can you take this week to put a plan into motion and work towards “selling your soul”?
Share your answers in the comments if you like. I’d be honored to see a little of your soul.
