“To me, wellness is being connected to myself and the truth and being able to express that. Because if you’re connected to yourself and the truth, and you’re able to express it, then you’re always living in the moment.”
Erin Stutland is a mind-body wellness and fitness expert, and host and life-style coach of Z Living’s cable series, Altar’d.
I first met Erin through her signature Shrink Session workout (for which I’m an affiliate partner), and love her approach to creating change in your life through movement – or as Erin says “movement in your body creates movement in your life.”
As a new mama and soon to be published author, Erin’s life has changed a bit since the last time we talked; so I invited her on the podcast to talk about her new book, Mantras In Motion (being published by Hay House in January 2019), why she believes that combining words with movement is the key to creating change in your life, and how becoming a mom changed what she does to feel well, but not her definition of being well.
Highlights
- How Erin went from “fidgeting” in school as a kid to using movement to help people reach their life goals
- Erin shares her struggle with anxiety and depression in college, and how yoga and dance helped her through a difficult time in her life
- Why Erin believes that combining words with movement is the key to creating change in your life (and the first mantra that helped her change her thoughts)
- Why Erin’s work is perfect for you if you feel like you can’t sit still and meditate – but you’re curious about the benefits of meditation
- How becoming a mom changed the things Erin does to feel well – but not her definition of being well
- Erin’s top two self-care practices
- Three ways that resistance can get in the way of your goals, and a mantra that Erin uses to move through resistance when she doesn’t want to do something (including exercise!)
